14th August 2025 Daily Video Game Gossip

Only six articles for today really caught our attention. We figure that with Gamescom coming up next week, things will probably be quiet until rumors start bubbling a couple days before. Maybe even some leaks.

A curated list of video game articles.

Our Thoughts

Silksong

This game will do numbers, but it'll be interesting if it lives up to the hype that people have built up in their minds. We've played Hollow Knight before, but aren't one of the rabid fans who have been waiting for it's DLC-turned-Sequel.

Paladin Class in Diablo 4

This was the class that we enjoyed in the second game. Might be worth sitting down with our significant others to start a couple new characters.

Hayter Plays MGSV

We were pretty disappointed to learn that Hayter was being replaced by Kiefer Sutherland when Ground Zeroes came out. Phantom Pain does have an amazing set of mechanics, but the story was a convoluted mess (like most everything Kojima has put out since the original MGS).

Xbox Messaging Services Down

We feel like this is a rarity. Granted, we haven't heard of the Playstation servers going down recently, but historically Microsoft have a better track record than Sony. Unfortunately this article doesn't explain if Microsoft ever provided an answer as to why certain services were affected and others weren't.

Secret of Weepstone

We can't decide if the black and white aesthetic would give us a headache or would be a cool immersive art experience, whereby it feels like you're moving through an ink drawing. This game definitely caught our attention with it's unique presentation and similarity to OSR rulesets like Shadowdark and Old School Essentials.

Some of our best friends are Apex players.

It's a shame that we'll probably never get Titanfall 3. And at this point, anything they put together wouldn't be the same game a third entry would have been if it had been made right after the second entry. Wall running might be worth the 80GB download.
